So - I'm living below the line. I had thought it might be a little like Nigella - adding a bit of this, a bit of that to 'ordinary ingredients' - but no, it's just hard and boring. Living on a pound a day is not good, in anyway you look at it. Nutritional content, vitamins, meat, most dairy - out the window. And forget 5 a day! When a quid is all you have, you're eating just to survive.

And you need to plan - for example, I needed to buy bread this morning. I forgot. And because I only have a bit of money left, I have to get the bread from Tesco. I didn't plan, I did forget and therefore I had no bread for lunch... dry rice with leftover pate sorted out my headache but not for long! And I still don't know when I'll get to Tesco for that bread.

This is also prompting a seismic shift I feel - my whole concept of how I live is changing. Tomorrow, I'll tell you about it. It involves farms and sewing machines.... See you then.
